About the event
The Trustees of the Harmsworth Trophy commented: “We are delighted to see that the Trophy will return to Cork this year. It was first raced for, under the auspices of the Royal Cork Yacht Club, in 1903 and now some 117 years later - it is going to play an important part in the Club's 300th anniversary celebrations.
Of the many trophies that have been donated for international powerboat racing, the oldest, most famous and most prestigious is the Harmsworth Trophy. It has always been regarded as a true test of both competitor and machinery against the sea - and this year's race course to the Fastnet Lighthouse and back will certainly prove a challenge for everyone taking part."
Competiton over 2 races with a total distance of 210 nautical Miles.
